VIdeo for “Baby I Will Leave You In The Morning.”
Free download of new covers record available with pre-order
If you pre-order Marissa Nadler from marissanadler.com before June 14th, you will get a free digital download of a brand new home recorded covers record. Volume I is currently available in physical format only on my ETSY site. The track-list will remain a surprise but not include any of the same artists as the 17 songs covered on Volume I.
If you have already pre-ordered your Marissa Nadler vinyl or cd, then you will be receiving an email very soon with your download link.
For those of you that like handcrafted items more than downloads, Volume II will be available soon in handmade physical format for a short period of time before the extensive touring regime starts. The ETSY shop will be put on vacation for most of the summer and autumn so now is the time to go there.
And album and an EP? Why?
Most producers would have demanded major cuts after I came into the studio with approximately 18 finished songs. Brain McTear, who I highly recommend as a producer and fine human being, listened to each song thoughtfully and helped me make the best decisons for placements. Only a few songs were cast into the decade deep bin I have that reads “needs work.” So, I ended up with a full length record and an EP!
Why not make a really long record?
The reason for not making a very long album, besides the fact that I think an album should be listenable in one sitting, is that Marissa Nadler is being pressed on vinyl. For the sound quality on a vinyl, a record shouldn’t exceed 45 minutes.
Rain Arrangement, the EP, will be given away for free to all of my kickstarter backers. It will also be available digitally a bit after the release of the record, and then, finally, physically in recycled cd wallets.
On May 29th, this live interview/podcast series will make its debut in Cambridge, MA. Curated by author Steve Almond (Rock and Roll Will Save Your Life) and songwriter/artist Ryan Walsh (Hallelujah The Hills), the pair will interview musicians about the worst maladies they’ve incurred on the road.
I will be joining Aaron Perinno (The Sheila Divine) and Matt Parish (Ho-Ag) for the innaugural episode. Come check it out live or wait for the podcast. I sure as hell have plenty of stories to tell.
